It's My Party, But I Don't Feel Part of It
Excellent article written by a Black Republican. She outlines exactly why even though many of my values and ideas fall in line with the Republican I have never been able to bring myself to actually register as a Republican.

It maybe your party but, the other guests don't care if you come or not. The black vote is just a means to an end for Republicans. They don't care about the black community, because there is no reason for them to care. You aren't needed and many of their base don't want blacks there in the first place.
True. However I believe a lot of what you say can be applied to the Democratic party as well. Look at all the racist DEMOCRATS that came out of the closet during the Democratic primary. Overall I agree
with your sentiments (Which is why I'm still a registered Democrat)but if we really want to be an honest broker we have to acknowledge that the things you mention are not the exclusive domain of the Republican Party.
